Pour intégrer un collège, cerné de barres d’habitation donc exposé aux regards des habitants, Alain Sarfati a imaginé un jeu de toitures de différentes couleurs. Pliée inégalement comme une feuille de papier, la couverture blanche et dorée a ainsi valorisé le quartier. Une sur-toiture, elle-même adaptée à la géométrie de la structure, assure l’étanchéité de l’ensemble.

A set of differently colored roofs sits atop this middle school, which Alain Sarfati designed to fit into a site overlooked by residents of tower block housing. The shining white and gold material, folded irregularly like a sheet of paper, enhances the environment, while a superstructure that ensures overall waterproofing echoes the geometry of the roofing.
