A l’origine, le palais était un épais massif de béton. Sur cette base architecturale, il fallait inventer un nouveau centre, attractif et rayonnant, mais sans tout casser. L’emploi généralisé de persiennes en bois glissées entre les portiques et le vitrage a atténué la brutalité du volume tout en protégeant de l’ensoleillement.

The center was originally a thick block of concrete. The design brief was to create a new shimmering, attractive complex on the same base, without completely demolishing what already existed. The use throughout of wooden louver blinds inserted between the structure and the glazing not only softens the starkness but also offers appropriate solar protection.
