DEVELOPPEMENT DURABLE/ SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT UNIVERSITY OF JUSSIEU, PARIS (FRANCE)
Il s’agit là de la réalisation d’une extension, un bâtiment de transition, pour permettre le désamiantage, la restauration des éléments métalliques et l’isolation thermique sur le site. Le bâtiment qui s’étire sur 25 000 m2 en plein Paris, comprend bibliothèque, bureaux, salles de cours, amphithéâtre… Le Patrimoine avait demandé la préservation du site en raison de sa longue histoire urbaine (caves voutées, angle de bâtiment..), il fallait donc concilier authenticité et normes en vigueur, tout en recherchant un confort optimisé. Le développement durable s’est fait sans isoler le bâtiment de son environnement mais dans une interaction permanente.

This is the development of an extension, a transition building in order to make asbestos removal possible, and the restoration of metal elements and thermal isolation on the site. The building is stretched out over 25 000 m2 in the center of Paris and includes a library, offices, classrooms, and an amphitheater. As this is classified as a historic building because of its long urban history (vaulted cellars, the angle of the building…), the norms and authenticity had to be reconciled while at the same time comfort was optimized. Sustainable development was accomplished by ensuring that the building is not isolated from its environment and by promoting a process of permanent interaction.
