C’est une friche remplacée par un nouveau quartier qui comprend quatre immeubles de forme triangulaire singularisés par l’abrasion progressive, comme rythmée, presque rabotée, de leur angle le plus aigu, effet géométrique du parcellaire. Contre l’avis du promoteur qui voulait du « parallèle à l’eau » et celui de l’urbaniste qui voulait du « perpendiculaire », la forme résulte de trois paramètres qui ont été articulés pour le plus grand bénéfice des usagers. L’effet de diversité de chacun des bâtiments est suscité par la spécificité de leur apparence, la position du bâti permet l’ensoleillement maximum (la lumière glissant entre les bâtiments alors qu’auparavant elle se brisait sur eux) et enfin l’angle de vue sur le canal est plus largement distribué.

This was an abandoned area that was replaced with a new neighborhood that consists of four triangular buildings. The buildings are unique because of the progressive erosion of the most acute angle on the building, as if the angles were worn away, almost sanded down, which gives an impression of a fragmented geometry. Contrary to the recommendations of the developer, who requested a design “parallel to the water”, and the urban planner, who wanted it to be “perpendicular”, the final shape was three parameters that were harmonized in order to provide the most advantages to the users. Each building is diverse in its appearance and its position. The buildings are positioned so as to maximize the amount of natural light, which passes between the buildings, whereas before it was blocked by them. The buildings are also positioned so as to maximize the amount of views on the canal.
