La réhabilitation consistait, après avoir rénové un bassin couvert, à créer sur les bases et dans l’emprise d’un ancien bassin, un bassin moderne avec un mur et un fond mobile. Dispositif qui permet de diviser un bassin de 50 mètres en deux bassins de 25 mètres. Si des transformations ont été nécessaires, loin de l’architecture immédiate et du kitsch, les adjonctions se sont faites en respect et en accord avec la construction de base, 70 ans après. Il fallait conserver la porte d’entrée, celle d’un hôtel particulier de l’âge classique dont s’était déjà servi le premier architecte pour établir son plan, un véritable palimpseste.

After having renovated the indoor pool, the renovation consisted of creating a modern pool with a movable partition wall and floor at the site of an old pool. This renovation made it possible to divide a 50 meter pool into two 25 meter pools. The transformations were necessary and avoided a kitsch and quickly built appearance. The additions were made to harmonize with the original construction that was completed 70 years prior. The front door, which was originally from a private mansion from the classical age, was used by the first architect in the original construction of the pool and it was conserved in this renovation. This represents a veritable architectural palimpsest.
