Intérieurement, il s’agissait d’une restructuration lourde. Tout a été entièrement reconfiguré et optimisé. La nef centrale a été évidée pour recevoir les salles de lecture et une médiathèque davantage éclairées par la lumière naturelle. Les circulations ont été optimisées, les magasins de stockage sécurisés. La redistribution elle-même est devenue plus fonctionnelle pour desservir les salles. Le tout a donné naissance à un site élégant, d’un fonctionnement exemplaire. Les Archives du Monde du Travail non seulement portent un nouveau sens dans la ville mais ne se départissent pas non plus d’une forte connotation écologique.

The interior renovation involved substantial reconstruction. Everything was completely reconfigured and optimized. The central nave was cleared out and turned into reading rooms and a multimedia library that receives optimal natural light. The circulation in the
building was optimized and security measures were put in place in the storage rooms. The redistribution of the spaces made it more functional to access the rooms. The renovation transformed this into a functional and elegant space. The National Labor Archives brings a new meaning to the city and caries with it strong ecological messages.
